Google Remembers Leonhard Euler -- If you happened to observe Monday's Google homepage, it's got the Doodle that is dedicated to Swiss mathematician and physicist Leonhard Euler. Today is supposedly the 306th birthday of the great scientist who made many important discoveries in the diverse fields of science and computing realms.
Euler introduced quite a huge part of the modern mathematical terminology and notation. He worked particularly on mathematical analysis such the notion of a mathematical function.

Euler is highly revered for his works in mechanics, fluid dynamics, optics and astronomy. He is considered as a preeminent mathematician in the 18th century. Euler spent his life in St. Petersburg, Russia, and in Berlin, Prussia.
