Indonesia Mine Accident, Death Toll at 28

The 2nd world's largest copper mine run by Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc in Indonesia succumbed to a collapse, claiming at least 28 lives, as of the latest news.
Freeport's unit in Papua suffered the same accident on Wednesday, killing 38 workers. The other ten (10) were rescued nonetheless.

Freeport Indonesia President Director Rozik Soetjipto issued a statement:
We continue to grieve with the families even as we close this grim chapter
There is still much to do for us to provide the best care and support for the injured and the families of the bereaved.
This Indonesia mine accident is somewhat blamed on the country's poor mining safety standards and measures.

Soetjipto promised to conduct an investigation of the said mine accident, after the retrieval and rescue operations were done.
