June 30 special non-working holiday for Tacloban Day [Araw ng Tacloban]

This applies to Tacloban City, Province of Leyte only - June 30 has been declared as a special non-working holiday. It is also called "Araw ng Tacloban", wherein residents of region celebrate for the special day by way of various civic and festive programs and are being participated by the government, non-government organizations and also, religious and civic entities as well.

Tacloban Day or Araw ng Tacloban is stipulated in the Philippine's Republic Act No. 7676 - "AN ACT DECLARING JUNE THIRTY OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL NONWORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN TACLOBAN CITY, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, TO BE KNOWN AS "TACLOBAN DAY"

Tourists or visitors bound for Tacloban on June 30 shall be enjoying the city's festivities. It is a perfect chance to learn more about Tacloban and its rich cultures and communities.
