Randy Travis is critical but stable after a stroke

Country singer Randy Travis suffered a stroke last week but is now in stable condition, though critical according to his doctor. He was hospitalized on July 7 due to idiopathic cardiomyopathy.
Cardiomyopathy is a kind of disease that can be either genetic or as a result of alcohol and drug abuse. Idiopathic is simply a term to refer to diseases with no discernible causes.

Randy Travis was put on life support for 48 hours. He needed to undergo neurosurgery. Said Dr. Gary Erwin:
He has responded well to the surgical procedure he had to relieve the pressure in his brain
He is awake and alert, interacting with his friends and family and beginning to start doing some early physical therapy.
Doctor's advise say, Travis might need at least two or three weeks to spend time in the hospital for keen observation.
