State of Origin III is expected to beat 88k+ origin crowd in 1999

State of Origin rugby series has been a total sell out. It is expected that over 82,000 spectators will be attending the match, which will happen in 2 weeks from now.

There is an estimate that crowd attendance on July 17 will be surpassing the Origin crowd of 88,336 set in ANZ Stadium in 1999.

State of origin has got ANZ Stadium for this Saturday night's decision match between Wallabies-British and Irish Lions. The stadium will be packed with rugby crowds again when Manchester United takes on A-League All-Stars.

State of Origin is an annual conduct of rugby matches, which is coming with the best-of-three run. It will be a day to battle between the BLUES (New South Wales) and the MAROONS (Queensland).

The name "State of Origin" came from the system that will be implemented in the selection of the players to represent the Australian state. Back in the 1980s, players are selected based on interstate matches only.
