SolGen Frank Chaves Dies

Former Solicitor General Frank Chaves dies on Wednesday due to a stroke, Wednesday at the Medical City in Pasig. He was 66.
Chaves passed away at 10:20PM, the hospital confirmed.

A family member of Chavez said, the official has been hospitalized since July for lymphoma or cancer of a part of the immune system.

Chavez's body was cremated earlier today at 2:45am. Santuario de San Antonio Parish in Forbes Park, Makati City will be hosting the lawyer's wake.

His burial is set on Sunday (Sept. 15) at the Heritage Park in Taguig.

Frank Chaves is a law degree holder and an alumni of the University of the Philippines. He was a solicitor general from 1987 to 1992.

Chavez was recognized as one of the TOYM or Ten Outstanding Young Men in 1986 because of his exceptional works in the realm of law and human rights.
