Tropical storm Odette intensifies to typhoon

In the latest tropical storm Odette update of the DOST-PAGASA, Odette (Usagi) grew stronger and became a typhoon while it continues to sweep the lands towards Northern Luzon.
The Philippine weather bureau estimates that Odette's location of eye/center is approximately 700 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.5°N, 129.3°E).

Moreover, Odette got maximum winds of 120kph near the center , while gustiness is about 150 kph.

In terms of rainfall amount, PAGASA revealed of a possible 15 – 20 mm per hour, should heavy rains occur.

ODETTE is seen to continue enhancing the Southwest Monsoon, which will bring moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms over Zambales, Bataan, and Mindoro.
