DSWD conducts National Children’s Congress

Today marks the start of the DSWD's conduct of the National Children's Congress (NCC) wherein, some close to 200 children beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in the country gather at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
The NCC will be running from October 23 to 25, 2013. In 2012, the DSWD started the said program in cooperation with the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC).

The congress hopes to hear the voice and issues affecting the Pantawid Pamilya children beneficiaries. The congress hopes to come up with working and doable solutions and recommendations in order for the government to respond accordingly. Things will then be presented to President Aquino on October 24, 2013 at the Malacañang Palace.

DSWD's Pantawid Pamilya is one of its human development programs that dedicates health and education efforts for the poor households primarily of children aged 0-14.
