House Bill 2417: Philippine tourist spots in postage stamps proposed

To promote tourism all the more, a lawmaker in the Philippines, ParaƱaque City Rep. Eric Olivarez filed a bill (House Bill 2417) mandating the country's postal service, PhilPost to print and put Philippine's tourist spots in its postage stamps.

Aside from the potential that the bill could help in the growing economy of the Philippines, Olivarez said:
Tourism authorities in the world concede that the Philippines has an abundance of tourist areas of unspeakable beauty, some of them have been developed and others are already beautiful in their natural state
It is definitely a boost for the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Tourism Promotions Board's (TPB) working slogan "It's More Fun in the Philippines". The congressman added:
Surely, this could trigger interest for more information about the tourist areas which our Department of Tourism and Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) can provide that would surely attract foreigners to visit the Philippines
The house bill states that PhilPost can seek the help of DOT and TPB in coming up with designs for the mail stamps.
