MILF is no longer a revolutionary group

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) finally signed a peace deal with the Philippine government, thus it is no longer a revolutionary group, as per statement shared by the group's chief negotiator Muhagher Iqbal.
The peace talk between the Philippine government and MILF started sometime in January 1997. A lot of foreign peace advocacy outfits and international donor organizations assisted in the long series of talks along the way. Malaysia even became a "third party facilitator".

According to Iqbal, the Bangsamoro political entity will be running in 2016. At the moment, MILF and the government are finalizing the terms of power-sharing and normalization, which will be injected into the Framework Agreement on Bangsamoro (FAB).

As a result of the signing of the peace pact, the "Bangsamoro Region" shall be replacing the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. But the transition shall have to undergo a plebiscite for the Southern Mindanao residents to decide.
