AK-47 Inventor Mikhail Kalashnikov dies at 94

Time tested assault rifle AK-47 inventor Mikhail Kalashnikov died on December 23, Monday due to a long time illness. He was 94.

Today news sad news has arrived that Mikhail Kalashnikov has died after a lengthy illness
Mikhail Kalashnikov had been enduring heart-related problems in the past years and had been confined in an intensive care unit.

The man who lived through tough times with his world known invention in the realm of warfare and weaponry is no doubt a great addition to the pages of world history.

When asked if he have had any regrets in inventing AK-47, Mikhail Kalashnikov would answer:
I invented it for the protection of the Motherland. I have no regrets and bear no responsibility for how politicians have used it
I'm proud of my invention, but I'm sad that it is used by terrorists
I would prefer to have invented a machine that people could use and that would help farmers with their work – for example a lawnmower.
Mikhail Kalashnikov was born in 1919. He lived and worked in Udmurtia. He had a degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences; His career delved into weapons design.
