LTFRB warns to suspend jeepney drivers and operators enforcing fare hike

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) issued a warning on Monday, to suspend operators and drivers caught implementing fare hike without official approval.

The warning was addressed to the jeepney operators who might try to impose a fare increase while the LTFRB reviews a proposed fare hike.

The LTFRB hopes to arrive at a decision this week.

Meanwhile, jeepney drivers and operators are reportedly threatening the transport board to stage a nationwide protest in order for their proposed .50 centavos in addition to the minimum fare of P8.00 to be approved.

But there is a confusion if we take a look at the two news articles published by GMA News Online and Manila Bulletin online. Here's from GMA News Online, saying the fare increase is already approved.

This one is from Manila Bulletin, digital edition (Source):

So which is which?
