NABCOR Scam involves billions of pesos in agricultural funds, says 2 ex-officials

The 'NABCOR scam' has been brought to light in the continuing case , tackling multi billion-peso pork barrel irregularity.

Statements from two (2) ex-NABCOR (National Agribusiness Corporation) officials revealed that there are also severe anomalies in the said agency, involving billions of pesos in agricultural funds.

NABCOR scam, according to the ex-officials involved the misuse of the funds intended for 'Ginintuang Masaganang Ani'. There was also hiring of ghost employees, the former officials added.

NABCOR's former vice president for finance, Rhodora Mendoza said, once the Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) reaches their agency, letters would come from senators and congressmen, endorsing several non-government organizations (NGOs) to carry out their respective projects.

Another former NABCOR official, Victor Cacal said, scam has always been in the way, even in the bidding processes.
Minsan yung supplier mismo di marunong mag-ayos ng bidding documents, ako pa mag-aayos nun para sa kanila
Pag nagtanong ka naman [sa nakakataas], minsan mabubulyawan ka, mapapagalitan ka
Cacal also added that most of the procurements conducted by NABCOR did not go through public biddings.
Karamihan po sa mga procurement namin especially in terms of agricultural facilities, hindi po dumaan sa public bidding.
Cacal said, the media were also used by NABCOR to justify its funds misuse.

Both Mendoza and Cacal agreed to testify on who are really behind NABCOR scam.
