Yacht sailing American Female and Palau National rescued by Phil. Coast Guard off Tubbataha

Yacht sailors 60-year-old American female Captain Linda Mckeever and Rene Menz, 47 were successfully rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard, off Tubbataha in Palawan.

Mckeever and Menz were on board their distressed S/V Creola on the way to Borneo from Palau Island, sailing at the east of Basterra Reef in Palawan. They were spotted by a passing fishing vessel - FV Mighty One, on Thursday, at around 5:30 early morning.

The Coast Guard deployed its Search and Rescue Vessel (SARV) 3503 to rescue the sailors.

Mckeever and Menz underwent medical check ups already.

The US Embassy is yet to issue an official statement regarding the plight of the survivors. (Source)
