Chile Tsunami. Chile Earthquake (8.2 magnitude) - It brought Tsunami to the shores of Chile's Pacific coast on Tuesday. According to early reports, at least five people died due to the tremor.

The quake brought a pounding tsunami to the northern coast of Chile with about 2 meters tall waves.

Data shared by the U.S. Geological Survey revealed that, the earthquake was shallow at 12.5 miles (20.1 km) below the seabed. It struck about 100 km northwest of the Peruvian border.

By far, the said earthquake in Chile has the biggest recorded waves.

Meanwhile, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (TWC) sent tsunami warning to Pacific coast of Mexico through Central and South America.
An earthquake of this size has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami that can strike coastlines near the epicenter within minutes and more distant coastlines within hours (TWC)
The same advisory was also relayed to Hawaii.
Sea level changes and strong currents may occur along all coasts that could be a hazard to swimmers and boaters as well as to persons near the shore at beaches and in harbors and marinas (TWC)
The massive 8.2 earthquake that hit the coast of Chile was taken advantage by some 300 prisoners located in Iquique. But in a pursue operation, some 26 women were recaptured.
