Government troops clashes with Abu Sayyaf members, 7 dead

This just got in! Government troops in Basilan clashed with Abu Sayyaf members.

Early reports say, at least 7 people died in the encounter. Among them are two soldiers from the government's side, while Abu Sayyaf has five fatalities.

Twenty eight (28) soldiers were reportedly wounded in the incident.

The fire exchange started when the government soldiers tried to engage the group of about 60 Abu Sayyaf group (ASG) members in Sitio Pansul, Barangay Silangkum, Tipo-Tipo, Basilan.

The government troops were pursuing an ASG leader identified as 'Puruji Indama'. (Source)
