Indonesian maid Erwiana Sulistyaningsih listed on TIME's top 100

Erwiana Sulistyaningsih was the maid who brought a spotlight to Hong Kong's controversial treatment to its migrant workers.

Sulistyaningsih suffered months of domestic abuse, but for her bravery in speaking out, she earned enormous support from organizations around the world.

Time magazine hailed Erwiana Sulistyaningsih's courage and will to persevere - her move to inspire the oppressed people to bring a lasting change.

Erwiana is advocating for better laws to protect others who may share her fate, placing a spotlight on the plight of a vulnerable and often invisible population
The abuser of Sulistyaningsih, Law Wan-tung, a 44-year-old has been charged for causing physical harms to the Indonesian maid.

Due to the damages from the said offenses, Sulistyaningsih was brought to a hospital in Sragen, Java, Indonesia.

Aside from Sulistyaningsih, Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai was also included in Time magazine's top 100 list. Yousafzai was the woman who survived Taliban attack in 2012.
