Tropical storm Domeng approaches Davao City

Tropical storm Domeng entered the Philippine's Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday night, and is nearing Davao City, as per latest reports. The storm is expected to bring heavy rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao today.

Philippine's weather bureau PAGASA said, Tropical storm Domeng may also develop into a typhoon before its estimated landfall on Wednesday.

'Domeng' (international name Peipah) was last spotted at about 1,020 kilometers east of General Santos City, moving west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour. Its maximum wind and gustiness were 65 and 80 Kph respectively.

PAGASA weather forecaster Meno Mendoza noted that, should 'Domeng' maintain its current status, it will at the east of Davao city on Monday at 570 kilometers. It will be in Cebu city on Wednesday.

Mendoza added:
If it changes track, it could go higher and pass through Southern Luzon and even Metro Manila
With the said weather condition, Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to cloudy.
