Everest avalanche: Search for the missing bodies intensifies, 13th recovered

The Everest avalanche swept over a group of guides on Saturday - known as the deadliest disaster on the world's highest peak.

According to the latest monitoring data, at least another three guides remain on the missing list; They have to be found or worse, their bodies recovered as the weather condition becomes tougher.

The avalanche came upon the twenty five (25) Sherpa guides while making their way to the higher camps of the mountain, carrying gears for their foreign clients who may try to attempt to reach the highest point of Everest.

All other climbing activities were cancelled on the day, the avalanche occurred.

One of the survivors related that the path had been showing signs of instability even before the grand ice fall.

7 out of the 12 bodies recovered from the accident area are now with their families in the Everest region. The other 5 were sent to Katmandu.
