Afghan flooding kills 50 plus, death toll may reach 100

A remote area in the northern Afghanistan suffered from flooding on Saturday; More than 50 people died, while thousands were forced to leave their houses for safety.

The flooded place is Guzirga i-Nur district of Baghlan province. There were 54 bodies recovered from the site, so far.

While others are still missing, the death toll is expected to increase as time passes by. At the moment, the lifeless bodies of men and children are being prepared for burial.

A police officer identified as Lt. Fazel Rahman said, there has been no help sent to Guzirga i-Nur yet. The families of the victims are conducting their own rescue operations on their own.

Guzirga i-Nur is located about 85 miles north of Puli Khumri, the province's capital. (Source)
