FDA bans Artex Fine watercolors due to excessive lead content

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a total ban for Artex Fine watercolors in the Philippines due to health threats to students.

The agency found that Artex Fine watercolors contain around 3,000 to 5,000 parts per million (ppm) lead, whereas, the safe level is 90 ppm.

With too much exposure to lead, students may suffer from anemia, low IQ, seizure and even coma in the long run.
