Land Transportation Office catches colorum buses, looks to impose P1M fine

The Philippine's Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) recently released its Revised Fines and Penalties for Traffic Violations through Joint Administrative Order (JAO) No.2014-1.

As a pilot implementation, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) led operation in the different regions of the country and caught at least ten (10) buses operating with expired vehicle and or franchise registration. Some were running out of line that is, operating at the wrong route or service area coverage.

The following are the buses caught during the said inspection:

2 Bachelor Express (Region 10)
Temporary Plate No. 151010
- In violation of its excursion/special trip authorization
- No registration papers

Bus with Plate No. LYE-668
- In violation of its excursion/special trip authorization

Buenasher Transport Corporation (Metro Manila)
Plate No. PVH-460
- Expired franchise

Lucena Lines (Alaminos, Laguna)
Plate No. TYK-695
- Expired vehicle registration
- Expired franchise

Jerel Transport Corp (Sunrays Bus Lines) (Region 7)
Plate No. GWF-633

2 Super 5 buses (Region 5)
Plate No. PIA-826
Plate No. UVC-699

AOM Bus (Region 5)
Plate No. 051206

Dalin Liner (Region 2)
Plate No. BVB-591

NELBUSCO (Region 2)

In the revised fines mentioned above, the penalty for franchise related violation is P1 Million. Take a look at the snapshot below:
