Philippine bakers may ask for bread price increase

The Federation of Philippine Bakers Association Inc. (PFBAI) may ask the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to study a possible bread price increase.

The PFBAI argues that the primary elements in making breads have been getting expensive. Flour prices have been gaining stronger grounds, wherein prices vary from P790 to P810 per bag.

Other things like sugar, milk, eggs and cheese have been experiencing price increase as well.

The cost of delivery is also soaring high due to the unstable oil prices in the market, the Federation added.
