Family of UP Diliman frat hazing victim looks to file criminal charges against Upsilon Sigma Phi

The family of the University of the Philippines Diliman frat hazing victim is planning to file criminal charges against the Upsilon Sigma Phi fraternity, Chancellor Dr. Michael Tan said in a statement dated July 4, 2014.

By next week, the legal action against Upsilon Sigma Phi fraternity will be carried out by the family of the UP Diliman student who sustained severe injuries during an initiation rite.

The divulging of the name of the fraternity involved in the recent hazing incident came with the permission granted by the victim's family.

This unfortunate event came, barely a week after the sudden death of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde student Guillo Cesar Servando; He passed away due to hazing involving Tau Gamma fraternity.
