Albay Bushfires News: Town declared under state of calamity

We got Albay bushfires news that says, municipality of Rapu-Rapu has been declared as under a state of calamity.

The fire affected at least 6,000 hectares of land, where seven barangays are situated.

Early reports sent to Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) on August 2 (Sat), said, residents observed a forest fire in the mountains of Barangay Poblacion, Rapu-Rapu.

Albay bushfires affected the following barangays:

  • Poblacion
  • Morocborocan
  • Sitio Acal
  • Mananao
  • Guadalupe
  • Buenavista
  • Sitio Minto
  • San Ramon
  • Batan Island
Possible evacuation initiatives are now being prepared by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC).
