Update 1: Death toll - 150 / Injured - 1,400 plus -- A China quake hit the Yunnan province, killing at least 26 people, while injured were reportedly 79. (Xinhua News Agency)

Southwest China quake

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the tremor was at magnitude 6.1. It hit the Yunnan province at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, registering a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles).

The same earthquake news was reported by state broadcaster CCTV and Xinhua News Agency.

The death toll, so far is at 26, a figure confirmed by an official from Qiaojia county in Yunnan province.
