The situation was confirmed by an Arellano University front desk staff to GMA News Online team.

Most of the school's faculty and staff left the institution after a class suspension directive was issued, the desk officer said.

However, the bomb scare turned out to be a hoax. According to Police Officer Lester Evangelista of Manila Police Station 4, a text message was sent to the school's security Officer-In-Charge (OIC), saying there is a bomb planted inside the school.

The area under threat was declared "Clear" before noon, after a police investigation.

The bomb threat was also announced online via social networks.
