Islamic preacher held for questioning over alleged linkage to terror groups issues official statement

Canadian Muslim scholar and professor Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips was arrested in Davao City on Sunday, over an alleged association with terrorist groups.

Consequently, several news articles came out tackling the said incident. On top of things, the Muslim scholar and preacher "has been charged for violation of Section 37a2 of the Commonwealth Act No. 613 also known as “The Philippine Immigration Act of 1940", reported.

Dr. Philips was taken into immigration custody.

What followed is a protest conducted by hundreds of Muslims in Marawi City, demanding for the release of the Islamic propagator. He was slated to deliver a series of lectures in Mindanao areas but unfortunately, the ruckus happened.
