According to evidences, the prosecutors found that Cannon "accepted nearly $50,000 in bribes between January 2013, when he was a city councilman, and February 2014 — three months after he was elected mayor.", Tuesday, Seattle PI reported.

Since the former city head pleaded guilty, the prosecutors vowed not to seek for a sentence that is more than five (5) years.

The investigation on the bribery case of Cannon started in 2010. He was by then a councilman.

A local tipster, who happened to be an undercover officer exposed Cannon's public corruption related activities.
