Hokkaido bus accident kills drivers, injures 33 Singapore tourists

A tourist bus accident in Hokkaido injured at least 33 Singapore tourists, including a Japanese conductor on Thursday, NHK News Web published.

The bus had a head-on collision with a truck in the northern island of Hokkaido on Thursday. The news broke out online via NHK's website at about noon.

The drivers of the bus and truck did not survive the accident, reports added.

Although none were accounted seriously hurt, several Singapore tourists suffered injuries. They are now being treated in a nearby hospital.

According to the details written by Strait Times:
The collision took place at around 9.40am Japan time on National Highway Number 5, a two-lane road, in Nanae Town in the southern part of Hokkaido. The vehicles crashed near Onuma, a popular tourist spot. 
The bus was bound for Sapporo.

Eye witnesses say, the truck swerved into the bus' lane.
