Amid calls to abrogate the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) between Philippines and the United States, President Aquino said there is no need to do so.

PNoy says no need to junk VFA

Although, there is the recent gruesome incident, wherein Filipino transgender Jeffrey "Jennifer" Laude succumbed to murder by an alleged US Marine in Olongapo City, PNoy asked, why the need?

"..the sin of one person should be reflective of the entire country?", Aquino asked.

"What’s important is [that since] a crime has been committed, get all the evidence that will prove the guilt of the person behind this, and achieve justice", the President added.

Aquino stressed on the Philippines and US' cooperation in the investigation of what had happened to Laude. As of now, suspect of the crime US Marine Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton is detained aboard the USS Peleliu.

The death of Laude kindled national anger. "Left-leaning groups", including some lawmakers even shout for reconsideration of the VFA.

What do you think is the sound solution to this seemingly national dilemma? Should the Philippine government step on to abrogating VFA? What will be the consequences? (Source: Inquirer.net)
