Do you know what protocol plate 8 stands for? How about the rationale behind?

Mr. Lazatin, a Facebook page follower of TopGear PH asked a politician similar questions - the answers were rather seemingly funny and dubious.

Lazatin asked on Twitter: "Ok, good Mr/Ms Congressman: modest lifestyle. Bt can we get rid of the unnecessary '8' protocol plate? What's it for?"

The politician said, "It is to let your constituents know that you are around".

"It is tradition", the public official added.

Apparently, TopGear went out of its way to find more of the conversation between Mr. Lazatin and the politician.

The exchange of Tweets had Lazatin saying, "tradition" is not enough of a reason why there exists protocol plate no. 8.

"The plate doesn't even indicate the congressional district", Lazatin added. (Source: TopGear)
