No more Taylor Swift's music on Spotify (Swift and Spotify split)

Taylor Swift's music and streaming service Spotify had a sad split on Monday, as per the artist's management request.

Taylor Swift out of Spotify

At the moment, all of Swift's songs are no longer available for streaming; Indeed, a sad day for Spotify's 40 million users.

Data log from last week says, Swift's single "Shake It Off" was the most played song on Spotify.

But with the sudden breakup, a business struggle just started between Swift and the leading new music distribution hub.

"We were both young when we first saw you, but now there's more than 40 million of us who want you to stay, stay, stay", Spotify said in a statement.

"It's a love story, baby. Just say yes.", Spotify added.

Surprised fans and followers reacted to the split quite differently. Some said, Taylor's being greedy, while others say, her company or management needs to implement some protective measures. Some say, the singer is just right to fight for her worth. It's her music after all.

Sometime in summer, Swift wrote in the Wall Street Journal that "artists should fight to be paid what they are worth.", Yahoo! SG article referred.

Here's the rest of Taylor Swift's message:
Music is art, and art is important and rare
Important, rare things are valuable. Valuable things should be paid for. It's my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual artists and their labels will someday decide what an album's price point is. I hope they don't underestimate themselves or undervalue their art.
There seem to be gray lines lingering within the present day music live streaming industry. While Spotify argue that close to 70 percent of its revenue goes back to "rightsholders in the form of royalty payments", artists air some complaints. Music streaming is but a "dressed-up piracy", singer Rosanne Cash said.

"I'm in this business and I see young musicians give up their missions and dreams all the time because they can't make a living.. Someone has to speak up for them.", Cash said in a Facebook post.

How do you see this Taylor Swift and Spotify split? What are your thoughts? We would love to hear them!
