The company will be having Benyamin Ismail as the new CEO, while Kamarudin Meranun will be assuming the role of a CEO to oversee AirAsia X's affiliates in the neighboring countries such as Thailand and Indonesia.

AirAsia X was previously known as "FlyAsianXpress Sdn Bhd". It is a long-haul budget airline that is based in Malaysia. It is a sister company of AirAsia.

AirAsia X is seemingly looking towards a rather bigger expansion in terms of service frequency. In fact, it ordered "55 Airbus Group NV A330neo planes valued at US$15.2 billion", Business Times SG mentioned.
