Pacquiao - Mayweather fight is not a 'done deal' contrary to early reports

The much awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not even close to being done, contrary to what early reports broke down this morning.

Pacquiao vs Mayweather

Celebrity blog TMZ wrote, "Floyd Mayweather has agreed to fight Manny Pacquiao … multiple sources tell TMZ Sports … who say the two finally came to an agreement moments ago".

Several other websites picked up on the news; Similar articles went up, announcing that the said fight is up for the May 2 showdown.

However, Top Rank's Bob Arum said otherwise. There were still issues to be resolved, Arum told New York Daily News.

"No, I’m aware of the report, but there are still some contractual issues to work out.. It’s close but not done yet.", Arum added.

Showtime Sports head Stephen Espinoza has got some words regarding TMZ's report as well. "TMZ usually has good sources, this time not so much", Espinoza wrote in a Tweet.

"The bottom line remains the same that it has been for the last couple of weeks—we are continuing to work hard to make a deal. We are continuing to make progress, but there are meaningful open issues. We can’t celebrate getting two-thirds across a minefield. You celebrate when you completely cross and you are clear of danger. Right now we are still in the minefield", Espinoza explained.

Aside from the above mentioned issues, the agreement between Showtime and HBO is also there for critical consideration.
