Roads in Pasay and Manila to close during Pope Francis’ visit

Papal Visit Alternate Routes: Here goes the list of roads in Pasay and Manila that will be closed due to the visit of Pope Francis. He is expected to arrive at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City on Thursday (Jan. 15).

As per MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino's statement, the roads around the area will be set to off-limits from 3 PM onwards.

The affected roads are the following:

1. Andrews Avenue
2. Domestic Road
3. Naia Road
4. Roxas Boulevard
5. Quirino Avenue
6. Taft Avenue

Moreover, on Thursday, all vehicles will be prohibited to pass through:

1. Sales Bridge
2. South Luzon Expressway-Skyway-Magallanes
3. Osmeña Highway
4. Quirino Avenue

Alternate routes on Thursday (Jan. 15):

"From Sucat Road northbound, drivers traveling on Kabihasnan can turn right on Coastal Road, turn left on Pacific Avenue, turn left on Macapagal Boulevard, right on Edsa, left on Arnaiz Avenue, right on Amorsolo Street, left on Rufino Street, right on Chino Roces Avenue, left on JP Rizal, then straight to Tejeron toward their destination.", MMDA said, as reported by Inquirer.

If you are going to the coastal area from Edsa, you can:
Turn left on Macapagal Boulevard, left on Pacific Avenue and then right on Coastal Road to their destination.
From Taft Avenue to Sta. Ana, Manila, vehicles can turn right on P. Ocampo Street, turn right on Arellano Avenue, left on Zobel Roxas, and left on Onyx Street to their point of destination.
The whole stretch of Taft, Quirino, Leon Guinto and Dagohoy will be closed on January 14 (Wed) starting 1 PM until January 19 (Mon) 10 AM.

These roads will be off limits to all vehicles on Friday (Jan. 16) from 11 AM.
