The blast happened somewhat 160 meters (525 feet) below the ground, which is located about 1,400 kilometers (900 miles) east of Moscow, regional Interior Ministry told news agencies.

At the moment, a possible violation of safety regulations is being looked at by Russia's Investigative Committee.

Sometime in 2011, 18 people died in a similar blast in the Komi region outside the city of Vorkuta, a place located at the far north of Russia.
