7.9 magnitude earthquake hits Nepal, 2 died reports say

Kathmandu was shaken by a powerful 7.9 magnitude earthquake on Saturday, toppling down walls and historical buildings, including towers, temples and roads cut open.

According to Sky News, at least 2 people died during the tremor.

In terms of damages, this is by far the worst of its kind in more than 80 years, mentioned Fox News.

Meanwhile, at least fifty people were trapped under the debris of the fallen Dharahara Tower - a UNESCO recognized historical monument.

Injured individuals are now being treated in the central Kathmandu hospital.

Old Kathmandu is a jam-packed district with poorly constructed residential settlements.
