Kahuku High School 2015

The video basically shows the 215 high school senior students wearing red and white robe, singing and swaying to their modern version of "Maori haka".

Maori haka, literally means Maori people's war cry. It is a posture dance of the Maori people of New Zealand. The performance is done by a group with strong stomping of the feet plus a rhythmically shouted accompaniment.

"What everybody’s seeing right now on the Internet is really the heartbeat of our community, of all our communities here in Kahuku.", said Vice Principal Walter Santiago.

"It’s been pretty magical for our seniors and also for our community", Santiago added.

Choreographed by alumni families, the 9-minute show for the graduating class of Kahuku was made possible in three days, with customized lyrics of their own.

It traced back their young struggles in the academe - from when they were still in the kindergarten until the present, as graduates.

To tune the graduating class' performance into the present genre, the medley started with "See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth. It's got Mark Ronson’s "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift’s "Shake it Off."
