A concerned motorist recorded a home video in order to show that Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued plate bolts do not work on some cars.
LTO security bolts for plates
Featured on Motoring magazine Top Gear Philippines' Facebook page, the 1 minute and 52 seconds video showed very clearly that LTO-issued bolts are somewhat inappropriate or too short to use specially on vehicles with thicker bumpers.

The so-called "official security bolts" just don't fit on some vehicle models.

Watch the proof video:

There you go. From a reader: "I recorded this video to show how LTO-issued plate bolts will not work on some cars. Therefore, they shouldn't impose penalties on car owners who can't use these bolts. Please do not mention my name."

Just recently, the Land Transportation Office issued an announcement that non use of the prescribed official screws (bolts) shall face a penalty of P5,000.

Car owners do find the requirement ridiculous and oppressive.
