Rhap Salazar frowns upon lip-syncing artists on TV

Rhap Salazar is undoubtedly one of the talented young singers in the country today, coming from ABS-CBN's "Little Big Star" in 2004 as the ultimate winning contestant.

Last week, Salazar expressed a rather strong take on the performing artists who lip synch on TV. He Tweeted, "I hate seeing artists lip-syncing on TV."

In support, Aria Clemente, Salazar's friend, who is also a singer replied, "@rhapsalazar remember they made us do that in shoutout lol then nag complain din sila in the end na bakit tayo nagllipsync."

Salazar's follow-up Tweet is rather heavy. One may find it sarcastic.

To the tune of clearing himself, Rhap then Tweeted: "That's my opinion guys. Thanks for understanding ;)"

Lip-syncing is indeed a technological wonder. It has been a tool for singers for quite sometime, specially when it comes to huge performances. But then again, its use is quite delicate in many ways.

Arts and entertainment journalist Chuck Taylor said, "I think there are times when artists are allowed a pass, because shows have become so gargantuan, in terms of production, and dancing, and spinning around on a trapeze."

On the other hand, "Lip-synching has been associated with something that is typically an egregious offense for a live performer", Taylor added.
