Victoria Court motel owner dies in Batangas chopper crash

Hotelier Archimedes "Archie" Rosario King, owner of Victoria Court motel chain, died in a chopper crash, Sunday (July 5) near Mount Maculot in Cuenca, Batangas.

The Augusta 109E type chopper ridden by King and company crashed around 12:45 p.m., Batangas public information officer Jing Segismundo said in a radio interview.

Other passengers on board the chopper were:

- Former model Tina Ocampo
- Entrepreneur Ricco Ocampo
- Tatler Philippines editor-in-chief Anton San Diego
- Dunlop Tires president Christopher Chilip and wife Patricia Chilip
- Lingling King

All of them sustained injuries and were brought to Martin Marasigan Memorial Hospital in Cuenca for initial medical treatments.

They were then transferred to St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The chopper's pilot, Capt. Felicisimo Taborlupa Jr., also died in the accident. (Philstar)
The cause of the crash is now being investigated by the agents of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.
