Unknown biker clears the way for ambulance, gets lauded for heroism

In the Philippines, it is not everyday that we see news about good deeds and heroic acts done by motorcycle riders. Almost always, news feature how an isolated few and uninformed bikers weave through vehicles like there is no tomorrow. Worse, some of them have the habit of speeding on the roadways carelessly.

But then, the attitude can be true to all other types of motorists out there. Being an irresponsible road user is not exclusive to the bikers.

So what's with this hero on motorcycle that we spotted in the social media?

Well, this featured video on TopGear PH has been shared over 7,000 times in the past 12 hours, with views of over 500k and counting. It shows a guy on his motorcycle clearing the way for a certain ambulance running for an emergency.

The biker closes in to the other vehicles ahead of the ambulance and signal them to give way. He continues this across the 2 minutes and 34 seconds video uploaded online by Jaypee Castillo on August 8, 2015. According to him, his group was surprised when they saw this man on a motorcycle trying to assist them get past the traffic while on their way to Chinese General Hospital (CGH).

Had it not been for the rider's help, Castillo's group could not have caught up with the doctor who was supposed to attend to the patient on board.

Castillo said, they did not have the chance to get to know the instant hero to give thanks. However, he hoped that his Facebook post would reach him. "Eto ang plate number nia 1954 UD (Here's his plate number)", Castillo added.

Some of the comments posted were the following:

Jun Daligdig: "Not all angels have wings as everybody know, but some are in the form of just ordinary men like this guy, yes. He is an angel sent from above."

Ichan Paddayuman: "A true hero, doesn't need to fly, an extra power or a fancy costume. true hero comes with a great heart"

Angeline Gorgeo√ús: "If we all are like this guy, we can save a lot of lives..."

Saludo kami sayo.Eto ang plate number nia 1954 UD
