89 dies in an explosion in India restaurant in Petlawad, Madhya Pradesh

Eighty nine people were reportedly killed when a powerful explosion occurred in a certain restaurant in Petlawad in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, officials told news reporters Saturday.

The incident happened in the morning, while the establishment was full of workers and students taking breakfast.

According to an initial finding by the police, the blast was caused by a cooking gas cylinder. Unfortunately, it detonated illegally stored mining explosives nearby.

After the rescue operations, at least 35 people with injuries were brought to a hospital for the necessary medical procedures.

Due to intensity, the blast also knocked down another building right next to the said restaurant.

Petlawad is a district where several mining activities are being conducted.
