Jaya Facebook Post

"Mama Beth is now with our Lord... 83 years has been full. Love and laughter, she has given not just our family but the whole nation. Thank you for your love and prayers and I rejoice because she passes in her sleep. In peace. In God's loving arms. Bye mama, until we meet again. I love you forever. Thank you Jesus.", Jaya posted about 3 hours ago.

Elizabeth Ramsey had a series of health complications this year, including an attack of hyperglycemia - a term that is used to refer to the occurrence of high glucose in one's blood. It is caused by the "loss of insulin producing cells in the pancreas or if the body develops resistance to insulin." (Diabetes.co.uk)

Last week, Ramsey was rushed to the Philippine Heart Center due to a stroke.

Ramsey, also known as the Philippine's "Queen of Rock and Roll" got into show business when she joined a singing contest of the then noontime show "Student Canteen".

She was loved and admired for her talent as a singer and comedian.

RIP Elizabeth Ramsey.

Here's one throwback video of the late entertainer, singing the local (folk) song "Waray-Waray" live on Sharon Cuneta's show "Sharon", sometime in 2009.
