Facebook teams up with Uber to test the ability of booking a ride using its messenger chat app.

News had it that social networking giant Facebook is in the process of partnering with ride-booking system Uber to explore a rather wider options for the commuters to avail of a ride.

Facebook with estimated users of about 1 billion is definitely looking at the possibility of providing a ride-hailing platform that will be more convenient than ever, since most people these days are on Facebook round the clock.

This has got to be the first ever transportation related collaborative engagement for Facebook Messenger.

Facebook and Uber users in the US may expect the service sooner or later, as it rolls out slowly, CNN News mentioned.

Uber Partners With Facebook for Messenger Based Ride Booking

The concept of the system is that, it will be providing a much convenient way for friends and relatives to plan out trips or eat outs. While chatting on Messenger, they won't be needing to shift to an entirely different app on their smartphones. They can just set things up while in the middle of a conversation.

As an opening treat, Uber will be giving away first free rides of up to $20.

Uber or Uber Technologies Inc. is an American transportation network company that was founded in March 2009. It is headquartered in San Francisco, California. It operates an Uber application, which allows commuters to book a ride with the use of a smartphone.
