Typhoon Melor 2015: Bagyong 'NONA' updates

Typhoon "Nona" News Updates -- Several areas in the Philippines are now under storm signals following the landfall of typhoon "Nona", also known by its international name "Melor".

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), "Nona" hit the regions of the country at around 11 AM on Monday. Thereby, the following provinces were put under Signal No. 3, 2, and 1. Take a look at the list below for your reference:

Signal No. 3
Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Ticao and Burias Islands, N. Samar, E. Samar, Samar and Biliran

Signal No. 2
Camarines Norte, Marinduque, Romblon Or., Mindoro Occ., Mindoro, Batangas, Laguna, Southern Quezon, and Leyte

Signal No. 1
Metro Manila, Bataan, Bulacan, Lubang Islands, Coron, Rest of Quezon, Polillo Islands, Southern Leyte and N. Cebu

As per news updates online, about 700,000 persons in the provinces of Albay and Sorsogon and in Northern Samar were evacuated as part of the a preventive measure.

The figure is close to what was disclosed by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
724,839 persons were evacuated due to the said typhoon.
Weather bureau said, "Nona" was last spotted in the east of Catarman in Northern Samar bearing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph).

Nona Update as of 2PM:
TC Update: as of 02PM today 14Dec2015, TY #NonaPH was located in the vicinity of San Jose, Northern Samar or at 20 km West of Catarman, Northern Samar (12.6°N , 124.5°E).
