Katana wielding taxi driver in Metro Manila?

There has been a surge in the number of cases involving violent behaviors of taxi drivers in Metro Manila.

The latest of which is the incident wherein, a cab driver allegedly tried to attack a passenger and his 10-year-old son after a heated argument that ensued on Wednesday night (Jan. 13) in Quezon City.

The passenger-complainant was identified as Bayani Arradza. He and his son boarded the taxi cab of Manuel Publico on the said day.

According to Arradza, he and his son took the cab  at UP Bliss, Quezon City at around 6:40 PM for them to be taken to Project 4.

The commotion took place when the driver took a route going to Cubao area.

What followed was a scary confrontation. The taxi driver allegedly pulled out a katana and tried to attack the two passengers.

Luckily, Arradza and his son were able to evade the attack, as per certain Quezon City Police District (QCPD) report.

Appropriate case will be filed against the erring taxi driver, the QCPD said.

Arradza was advised to file a formal complaint before the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
